Two dogs have only one another at an animal shelter in Harris County, Texas. The dogs, Negra and Moneca, were turned over to the Harris County Public Health facility when their owners – the people who were supposed to love and protect them, moved and made the decision to not take the dogs with them.
Now the bonded friends are sitting in terror inside of a lonely kennel run – both are clearly terrified and confused over what has happened. Worse still, the dogs are in danger of losing their life – even though they have done absolutely nothing to deserve death.
The volunteer-run Facebook page which operates to help save homeless pets at the facility wrote of the dogs’ dire predicament:
These two sisters were left at the shelter by their owners because they were moving. Their review date was when the shelter closed today, Thursday March 30th, but the shelter gave them another day to find a home even though they are PACKED FULL!
If Moneca and Negra do not find a forever home, or a foster home, by the time the shelter closes tomorrow, Friday the 31st at 6pm, they will be euthanized without another extension. Please don’t let them down like their owners did. They don’t deserve this.
Please help these dogs find a new home – a home where they will never be turned away again.
