Terrified Senior 10-Year-Old Poodle Surrendered To High Kill Shelter, Is Formally Placed on Death Row

The Carson Animal Shelter in Gardena, California, is the last place on earth you might find hope. Most animals who enter the facility will ever see the light of day again, and that is a tragedy on many levels, as the shelter grapples with overcrowding and limited kennel space. At Carson, time is as precious as gold. Dogs, cats, and other animals who enter the facility are given just a few weeks, and sometimes even just days to find a forever family, before the unthinkable happens: euthanasia.

For one unnamed 10-year-old male Poodle Mini, the stakes couldn’t be any higher. The poor pups heartless owner didn’t think he was a “good fit” anymore, and so she dumped him at the Carson knowing full well the ramifications such a decision might bring. In fact, she was in such as rush to rid the pup of her possession, that she couldn’t even stop to give Carson staff a name during the intake process. Sad indeed.

The terrified pup, who anxiously stares out of his kennel space, hoping and wishing that someone might take a chance on him, is disappointed daily as shelter patrons routinely pass him up for younger, more “vibrant” dogs, according to my source at the shelter.

With interest waning in him, shelter staff were left with no other decision but to formally place the pup on death row, a move the pup is not taking too well. The pup, who may have just days to live, shivers in fear each passing hour, wondering if his number will be called, as he braces to exit a cold world that has rejected him.

Speak Up! we have the power to alter the course of this pups life for the better. If you or someone you know is interested in giving this unnamed pup the forever family he rightfully deserves, please contact the Los Angeles County Animal Control – Carson at (310) 523-9566 and reference the shelter ID #A5050506.
