Sadly, No One Wants To Adopt This Dog Because of the Color of His Coat

As if being betrayed by a heartless owner isn’t enough, this precious 8-month-old pup is experiencing a level of discrimination, one would not want to wish on their own worst enemies. The unnamed chihuahua, who is terrified beyond belief, can barely make it through one night of sleep at the noisy and chaotic Carson Animal Shelter in Gardena, California, where he awaits an uncertain future.

Carson, a place where dogs and cats are given just weeks, and sometimes even days to find forever families, is not a place where one would like to pin their hopes and dreams. In fact, if the dogs trapped in this high-kill facility have no luck finding placement, they are brought to the back of the room, where they are “prepped” for euthanization.

The unnamed pup is also facing another type of discrimination, that is disgusting as it is despicable. The pup has a black coat, and it is a documented fact that dogs with darker colored coats have a harder time getting adopted than their brown and blond counterparts. Sad indeed.

According to my source, that is the only reason she could think of, as to why no one might want to take a chance on this beautiful, loving and kind gentle pup, who is described as sweet tempered, and well mannered.

Speak Up! lets work together to buck the trend of the awful streak of bad luck this pup is having. If you or someone you know is interested in giving this precious pup the forever family he deserves. Please contact the Los Angeles County Animal Control – Carson at (310) 523-9566.
